Privacy Act Notice Statement

The personal information is collected under the authority of the Financial Administration Act and section 5 of the Department of the Environment Act.

When you visit Government of Canada websites, these sites do not automatically collect your personal information– your name, telephone number, email address, street address, etc. Your personal information is collected only if you supply it voluntarily, usually through contacting us via email or by registering on a secure section of the site.

Canada.ca uses per-session cookies. Per-session cookies do not collect personal information about you. Per-session cookies are used to store information during a session on (or visit to) our websites. By keeping this data, Environment and Climate Change Canada's website administrators can fine-tune their sites based on user-activity trends. Environment and Climate Change Canada is a participant in the Government of Canada Public Key Infrastructure, an initiative that allows you to communicate with the department in a confidential manner.

The information is collected, used and disclosed for the purpose of establishing a mailing list for employees who wish to receive notifications about the publication of selected products by ECCC. Employees may unsubscribe from the mailing list whenever they wish.

The personal information created, held or collected by Environment and Climate Change Canada is protected under the Privacy Act. Information in the business reply form will be used, disclosed and retained in accordance with the conditions listed in the Personal Information Bank Public Communications PSU 914.
